The actress, who has starred in several popular serials like Chinna Papa Periya Papa and Vamsam, is now part of the recently launched Kandukonden Kandukonden.

We met her at the set of the serial, during a break, and she cheerfully joined us for an interview.

Clad in a pink sari, Seema says that shes finally settling in and is liking every bit of working in front of the camera after a traumatic break.

I had a hard time dealing with it and couldnt really come to terms with it.

After a year, and with the help of my children, life was slowly coming back to normal, when my mother passed away.

Eventually, my son and daughter asked me to get back to work and come out of this trauma.

They wanted to see me happy, and for me, happiness is standing in front of the camera.

It was around this time that I got an opportunity to work in Kandukonden Kandukonden, she says.

The serial revolves around the emotional connect she shares with her grandson.

I am back on Tamil television after a gap, so I am looking forward to audiences reaction, she says.

I am very lucky, she begins, When it came to my television career, I started off with KB sir (K Balachandar).

I followed it up by acting in serials by Radikaa, Ramya and Suhasini.

I cant imagine doing a role like that of Anjana paati in films.

With serials, you have the advantage of allowing the character to evolve over a period of months.

And of course, you connect with the audiences every day in serials.

I havent received anything yet in Tamil and looking forward to taking up interesting roles here as well, says Seema.

Of late, Tamil cinema has been churning out a lot of good films, she smiles.

Ask her about the roles that are being written for women protagonists in films these days, and she says, Today, I see a lot of female-centric films.

And thats a great thing.

You really cant discuss what happened in the past or compare it to now as it doesnt really make sense.
